Busy Body
Welcome to 2026 , where we are training hard, celebrating dry Jan with wine and “ on our grind” , new year, new me. I do the same thing, every single year its like a countdown to the next, waiting and hoping that the year coming won’t feel as bad as the last, but will also feel way better than the best moments of the prior. But just like you, when I create this pressure on myself I normally overtrain, under fuel and get injured in some capacity, because even being a trainer sometimes I just fall into the habit of being a hard working human that wants it all now- thanks ADHD.
Training hard never means training until you hit the bed at the end of the day absolutely exhausted because you’ve worked to failure in every aspect of your life, because along with training hard comes with teaching discipline- discipline of rest, discipline of listening which never works well in a busy body.
While we are on this grind of focusing on hitting every goal we’ve set I want to challenge you to also focus on the aspects of life that fall by the way side, like taking a break, not earning the break. Stepping away from work before the burnout starts. Listening to your body before injury and sickness gets you. We almost always have signs of the looming injury, sickness or burnout that “hustle culture” has told us to ignore but I want to challenge you this year, this month, this week, TODAY- to listen to it, because it almost never lies.
